U.S. water ski athlete Allie Nicholson (Gallatin, Tenn.) scored 3 buoys at 39-1/2 feet off on Friday at the Masters Last Chance Qualifier at Jack Travers’ International Tournament Skiing and Sunset Lakes in Groveland, Fla., to earn a spot in next weekend’s women’s slalom event at the 60th Nautique Masters Water Ski Tournament, presented by GM Marine Engine Technology, in Pine Mountain, Ga.

Athletes not currently qualified for next weekend’s 27th Nautique Junior Masters and 60th Nautique Masters, presented by GM Marine Engine Technology, could qualify by winning an event in the LCQ with a winning score that equaled or exceeded respective benchmark scores from the Masters Qualifications Criteria.

Other athletes earning spots in the Masters based on their LCQ scores were: Dominican Republic’s Robert Pigozzi (men’s slalom), Mexico’s Patricio Font (men’s tricks) and Ukraine’s Danylo Filchenko (men’s jumping).

In other events, Australia’s Jacinta Carroll, the six-time defending women’s jumping champion at the Masters, tied her own world record with a jump distance of 198 feet (68.3 meters).
